In short: IsleBar runs on your PC and keeps what it knows there. The one thing it can send is a crash report — and only if you turn that on.

What stays on your PC

Settings, prompt history, logs and the bar's state live in %LOCALAPPDATA%\IsleBar and never leave your PC. The state files hold what the bar is showing — for an agent, the start of your question and the session's name; they are deleted once they are no longer shown (within a day at most). The logs note what happened, such as which app turned the microphone on and the text of errors. Uninstalling keeps your settings in case you reinstall; delete that folder to remove them.

What IsleBar reads on your PC (and never sends)

To show what is going on, IsleBar reads these on your PC. None of it is sent anywhere; the notices can be switched off one by one in settings.

Claude Code and Codex — the status their hooks report (working, needs an answer, done, stopped), your plan's usage percentage and reset time (Claude's status line, Codex's own session record file), and the name of the session. While a task runs, IsleBar also reads the new lines of that session's record file, only to notice that you stopped it (Esc) or that it failed.
Music — the title, artist and album art the playing app shares with Windows.
Downloads — names and sizes of files still downloading in your Downloads folder.
Copied text (notice on by default) — the first few words, to say "Copied · …"; anything marked secret by a password manager, or that looks like a password, is masked.
Microphone and camera — whether one is in use and by which app (from Windows' privacy settings), for the small dot.
Windows notifications (off by default) — new notifications from Windows' local notification list, to show them on the bar.
Keyboard and mouse activity — only that you clicked or typed in an agent's terminal, to know you have seen a finished task. What you type is never read.
File search — your search text goes to Everything (voidtools) on your own PC.
Battery, Bluetooth devices, network state, Focus sessions and CPU/memory load — for the short notices.

What IsleBar connects to

Crash reports (off unless you choose them)

You can turn them on in setup (“Send crash reports”, unticked by default) or later in IsleBar's settings, and turn them off the same way at any time. Turning them off also deletes any report still waiting to be sent.

Sent: the type of error, where in IsleBar's own code it happened, the IsleBar version, your Windows version and its language and region format (such as “ko-KR”), plus basic technical details that help reproduce a bug — processor type, amount of memory, the .NET runtime version, and the names (not locations) of the program files IsleBar had loaded. If the bar stops without an error message, the report holds its exit code and roughly how long it had run (under a minute, under an hour, or longer) instead of an error, with the same version and device details.

Never sent: window titles, file names or paths, what you type or ask, your music, notifications or calendar, log files, your computer's or user's name, or your IP address. Error messages are cleaned on your PC before sending (paths and quoted text are removed), and the receiving project is set to discard IP addresses and to scrub data on arrival.

Reports are processed by Sentry in its EU data region and are used only to find and fix bugs. They are kept only as long as the Sentry plan keeps them (at most 90 days) and are then deleted automatically.

요약: IsleBar는 사용자의 PC에서만 동작하고, 알게 된 정보도 PC 안에만 둡니다. 밖으로 보낼 수 있는 것은 오류 보고 하나뿐이며, 그것도 사용자가 켰을 때만 보냅니다.

PC에만 남는 것

설정, 질문 기록, 로그, 바의 상태는 %LOCALAPPDATA%\IsleBar에 저장되며 PC 밖으로 나가지 않습니다. 상태 파일에는 바가 보여 주는 내용(에이전트라면 질문 앞부분과 세션 이름)이 담기며, 더 이상 보여 주지 않으면(늦어도 하루 안에) 지웁니다. 로그에는 어떤 앱이 마이크를 켰는지, 오류 내용 같은 동작 기록이 남습니다. 삭제해도 다시 설치할 때를 위해 설정은 남겨 두며, 이 폴더를 지우면 완전히 지워집니다.

IsleBar가 PC에서 읽는 것 (보내지 않음)

지금 일어나는 일을 보여 주려고 IsleBar는 PC 안에서 아래 정보를 읽습니다. 어디에도 보내지 않으며, 알림은 설정에서 하나씩 끌 수 있습니다.

Claude Code·Codex — 훅이 알려 주는 상태(작업 중, 답변 필요, 완료, 멈춤), 요금제 사용량과 초기화 시각(Claude의 상태 표시줄, Codex의 세션 기록 파일), 세션 이름. 작업 중에는 그 세션 기록 파일에 새로 추가되는 줄도 읽는데, 사용자가 작업을 멈췄는지(Esc) 또는 작업이 실패했는지 알기 위해서만 씁니다.
음악 — 재생 중인 앱이 Windows에 알려 주는 제목, 아티스트, 앨범 커버.
다운로드 — 다운로드 폴더에서 아직 받는 중인 파일의 이름과 크기.
복사한 내용(알림 기본 켜짐) — "복사됨 · …"을 보여 줄 앞부분 몇 단어. 비밀번호 관리자가 비밀로 표시했거나 비밀번호처럼 보이는 내용은 가립니다.
마이크·카메라 — 사용 중인지, 어떤 앱이 쓰는지(Windows 개인정보 설정 기준). 작은 점을 표시하는 데 씁니다.
Windows 알림(기본 꺼짐) — Windows가 PC에 보관하는 알림 목록에서 새 알림을 읽어 바에 보여 줍니다.
키보드·마우스 활동 — 에이전트 터미널에서 클릭하거나 입력했다는 사실만 봅니다(완료된 작업을 확인했는지 알기 위해). 무엇을 입력했는지는 읽지 않습니다.
파일 검색 — 검색어는 PC에 설치된 Everything(voidtools)으로만 갑니다.
배터리, 블루투스 기기, 네트워크 상태, 집중 모드, CPU·메모리 부하 — 짧은 알림용입니다.

IsleBar가 접속하는 곳

웹 검색은 브라우저에서 열리며, IsleBar는 검색 결과를 보지 않습니다.

오류 보고 (켜야만 보냄)

설치 화면의 "오류 보고 보내기"(기본 꺼짐)나 IsleBar 설정에서 켜고 끌 수 있습니다. 끄면 아직 보내지 않은 보고도 지웁니다.

보내는 것: 오류 종류, IsleBar 코드 안의 발생 위치, IsleBar 버전, Windows 버전과 언어·지역 형식(예: "ko-KR"), 그리고 버그를 다시 만들어 보는 데 필요한 기본 기술 정보(프로세서 종류, 메모리 크기, .NET 런타임 버전, IsleBar가 불러온 프로그램 파일의 이름 — 위치는 아님). 오류 메시지 없이 바가 멈춘 경우에는 오류 내용 대신 종료 코드와 대략 얼마나 실행됐는지(1분 미만·1시간 미만·그 이상)를 같은 버전·기기 정보와 함께 보냅니다.

절대 보내지 않는 것: 창 제목, 파일 이름이나 경로, 입력하거나 질문한 내용, 음악·알림·일정, 로그 파일, 컴퓨터나 사용자 이름, IP 주소. 오류 메시지는 보내기 전에 PC에서 정리하고(경로와 따옴표 속 내용 제거), 받는 쪽도 IP 주소를 저장하지 않고 민감한 정보를 지우도록 설정되어 있습니다.

보고는 Sentry의 EU 데이터 지역에서 처리되며, 버그를 찾아 고치는 데에만 쓰입니다. Sentry 요금제의 보관 기간(최대 90일)이 지나면 자동으로 삭제됩니다.
